Colin Trevorrow’s latest installment within his Jurassic World franchise, Jurassic World Dominion,took fans to the beautiful island of Malta The largest island of an archipelago located in the middle of the Mediterranean situated to the south of the Italian island of Sicily. The film’s most memorable sequences were shot on Malta’s capital city, Valletta and within the cities of Birgu, Mellieha and Pembroke in the summer of 2020. The remainder of the film was shot at British Columbia and at Pinewood Studios in England.
To celebrate the release of DVD and Blu-ray of JWD’s extended version Jurassic World Dominion ( JWD) on August. 16, I was given the chance to visit Malta for a chance to talk with the cast members. The country is famous for its historical sites and beautiful narrow streets are a little bit secluded with a personality that is their own. I also found a tiny nation with a huge heart and a welcoming culture. Maltese are welcoming visitors with warm arms.

It’s not the only time that the franchise allowed viewers to explore across the globe through the lens through its film. The first Jurassic Park film and the subsequent Jurassic World (2015) and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom were shot in Hawaii as a substitute for the fictional Isla Nublar, an island situated off on the shores in Costa Rica. Although the films weren’t produced on Costa Rica, the country’s Isla del Coco was used as the location for the Jurassic Park’sintro sequence.

Streets of Malta
The city’s streets are narrow. Malta were among the main reasons that director Colin Trevorrow opted to film in Malta. The history of the city is a reference to the historical nature of the dinosaurs.
“I wanted a city island,” …” the man said when he was interviewed in Malta. “It’s also a mixture of many cultures, including regions that are part of Europe as well as Northern Africa and the Middle East and bringing it all together into one place which is surrounded by old stone and narrow, tight streets that look amazing as you move forward. The concept of dinosaurs within the context of ancient stones … just like they appear older to us, however the dinosaurs are a lot more ancient than what we’re seeing.”
The most popular location for Trevorrow was an archway in Valletta which leads directly to a jazz club called Bridge Bar. “There’s a great little crossing point and there are a number of scenes in the film that take place on a tiny bridge that leads to a jazz bar that only is open on Fridays. St. George’s Square in Valletta
The island is an important hub for the black market of dinosaurs during JWD and also introduces Velociraptors that leap over churches and following lead actors Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard through the streets of Valletta the capital city of Malta which is which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The backdrop of the chase scene with the motorcycles, St. George’s Square is a stunning spot in which shopping is a major attraction, as the streets that lead into the area are lined with shops.
